The Love’s.
How perfect is that last name?
We’ve all seen the teen dramas where the little girls sick with love crushes scribble hard in their journals; her first name and his last name. Maybe you’ve even done it. I did it when I had a huge crush on Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Before that it was with my grade one crush, Thomas Flannery. I still remember my very first sleep over, with my best friend Krista, where we stayed up all night talking about how dreamy he was; dark hair, glasses, lengthy limbs and the cutest smile. We were both gonna marry him. We were so naive and young, but hey, it was grade one in a time where there was no Britney Spears or Justin Bieber (I don’t know that he was even born then!).
A little 411 on me, I was raised with a really confusing views of the whole last name/maiden name thing. My dad’s (and mine, my brothers & sometimes my mom’s) last name is O’Neill. My mom’s maiden name is Harrington. Her drivers license, health card, passport, visas, etc. all show a variation of Harrington, O’Neill, O’Neill-Harrington, Harrington-O’Neill. My brother even got her maiden name as his middle name. And then, to make matters even more confusing, they named their company O’Neill-Harrington. Somehow, along the way with that, the fact that I’ve been raised to be way independent and have created a company that is my own name, Scarlet O’Neill – well, I don’t know that I would be one to actually change my own name. A topic of conversation that has come up more than once and not always leaves the other person too happy. But you never know what the future holds!?
However, to take the last name “Love”, I’d do that. Emily definitely chose right. She also chose right when she married Adrian, too. These two are true love, in every definition of the word.
To say that I’m smitten by them both is an understatement. Every time I spent time with them, especially all my little dates with Emily, I was more and more smitten by just how lovely, charismatic and sweet they are. To say that the big day, “the wedding day” would be magical, no truer words could be said.
Every element of it was magic; from the buzz in the house as the girls got ready, the anticipation from Adrian as Emily snuck up behind him during their first reveal, the way they lit up when she walked towards him during their ceremony, how excited & totally awesome their bridal party was (so awesome that they popped some bubbly & drank it in the streets of Rosedale looking quite fabulous), the speech from Mr & Mrs Love that included Adrian’s little kid undies, the dancing that left me in stitches with laughter and the mind blowing decor that filled the Palais Royale.
Every element of the day was laced together with love.
To Emily & Adrian, thank you for sharing with me the beautiful bond that you have. You triumph over the hard, you breeze through the small and you appreciate every thing you have to offer each other with such beautiful respect & admiration. True Love. Love you, mean it xo.
